The October half-term is key preparation time, balancing rest and fun with focused academic and mindset work critical to exam success. All material is bespoke and unavailable outside of the course. We evaluate current levels of attainment and skills, identify strengths and needs and target to return ready for the challenges ahead. This course is excellent to build on previous masterclasses or as an independent week of teaching and learning. Comprehension: An original Fortis comprehension paper to analyse and annotate, identifying the author’s tools (literary devices) and their effect. Question analysis skills, phrasing and structuring PETEE answers. Meticulous in making a clear point, choosing appropriate evidence, naming the technique and explaining the effect. Writing skills: Using literary devices in descriptive writing, using our method to hit the mark scheme. Following the examinations, many students have received letters from next schools commending their writing. Grammar and Vocabulary. All material is original and cannot be purchased.
