Fortis Education was borne from Lisa Powell’s transformational experience of education and her long-standing commitment to empowering success and wellbeing in all young people. Her dedication was clear from early teenage years fundraising for children’s charities and, as a first-generation student, she graduated as a qualified teacher with a fervent passion to unlock opportunity through education.
Over her thirty years of teaching, she continues to learn today and is notably qualified in educational leadership, teaching and learning, special educational needs and wellbeing. Lisa’s career has spanned across the most prestigious British Day and Boarding independent schools and has particularly enjoyed setting up Learning Support Departments as a SENCo as Leader ensuring compliance and best practice, working with Admissions teams, examinations and staff common rooms leading change in schools.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
Dedicated to making a wider impact on children’s learning, Lisa started her own business whilst raising her son who became a scholar at Harrow School and then Cambridge University. She is a respected authority in the field of education travelling around the world to speak, consult, assess and teach.
Her clients are a wonderfully diverse mix of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, celebrities and royalty, schools and universities and her outreach work with children in foster care and from backgrounds of domestic violence. Infamous for her relationships with families, extraordinary academic results and school placement track-record, Lisa is driven by excellence for young people. Nothing else will do.
So, when family after family shared their disappointing and damaging experiences in preparing for elite school entrance examinations, she launched Fortis Education to offer a holistic approach to excellence. Nothing brings her more joy than children gaining confidence and strength, exceptional exam results and coveted school and university places, bursaries and scholarships.
With values at its very core, Fortis Education combines personal and professional experiences to create a powerful yet healthy educational environment.
