Comprehension: An original Fortis comprehension paper to analyse and annotate the text, identifying the author’s tools (literary devices) and their effect. Question analysis skills, phrasing and structuring answers. Clarity and precision in making a clear point, choosing appropriate evidence, naming the technique and analysing the effect (PETA). Writing skills: Using literary devices in descriptive writing, using a method to hit the examiner’s mark scheme.
