Having worked together in preparation for the prep and senior school entrance examinations, many families wish to continue tuition, with eyes fixed on achieving Top Set positions and developing the foundations for GCSE English. Growth mindset, stress management, study skills, goal setting, resilience, confidence and metacognition work. Comprehension – text analysis (prose and poetry), annotation skills, question analysis, structuring answers (PETA), writing with precision. Meticulous in making a clear point, choosing appropriate evidence, naming the technique and analysing the effect. Writing Skills (creative and personal response styles). Children often struggle with writing skills, and we deliver a method that meets the examiner’s mark scheme. All of our students received a Grade 9 for their English Literature and English Language iGCSEs in 2024. Our Year 7 Saturday class identifies gaps and lays the foundations for the skills required. Vocabulary building. Punctuation and grammar. Strong mindsets, confidence and impressive academic progress.
